Welcome to Five Continents Bed & Breakfast. This New Orleans Bed & Breakfast Inn is located just six blocks down the historic Esplanade from the French Quarter and the Race Track at the Fairgrounds where the world famous New Orleans Jazz Festival is held, making it perfectly situated for a memorable visit to the "Big Easy".
The Bed & Breakfast is a two story Greek Revival Mansion with the original carriage house and a dependency. Built in the late 1880's by Jean Francis Del Corral-Monent, it reflects a by-gone era in New Orleans history. Located just six blocks from the French quarter down the historic Esplanade or to the Race Track at the Fairgrounds where the world famous New Orleans Jazz Festival is held, it is perfectly situated for a memorable visit to the "Big Easy".
Significant architectural features include the 14 foot cove ceilings that terminate in a delicate plaster shell and Fleur-de-lis motif, the original ceiling medallions and the original gasolier crystal chandeliers in both the parlors. All accommodations have color TV's, irons, ironing boards and hairdryers. The bathrooms in the main house have antique cast iron claw foot tubs outfitted with showers and the North American Cottage has a two person multi-head, walk-in /roll-in shower.
