Built in 1864 and named Mira Monte, "Behold the Mountains", for the beautiful surrounding peaks of Acadia National Park. A Victorian bed & breakfast inn on two acres of landscaped estate grounds - in the heart of the Bar Harbor, ME village. Acadia's 33,000 acres of woodland, mountains, lakes, and shorefront surround Bar Harbor. More that 60 trails and mountains as high as 1500 feet offer activities ranging from gentle to strenuous. This historic Bar Harbor bed and breakfast inn reflects the grace and beauty of the mid-Victorian time. Each room, named for a popular hotel of the era, has a fireplace and/or balcony and is uniquely styled with antique and period furnishings.

The romantic atmosphere is said to be “like our favorite grandmother’s house”: friendly, welcoming, cheerful and interesting with its wealth of period wallpapers – designed to take you away from the sameness of many modern homes.
