Located in the coastal village of Freeport, Maine, White Cedar Inn is a short, two-block stroll along brick-paved sidewalks to LL Bean and many brand-name outlet stores. If shopping is not your cup of tea, we are 10-20 minutes by car to beaches, museums, hiking trails, birding spots and many winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and sledding. Awarded the Maine Environmental Leadership Certificate in Green Lodging in November, 2007.
Plan your day over a full breakfast in our sunroom. May we tempt your palate with Blackberry-Stuffed French Toast or Maine Blueberry Pancakes with Thick-Cut Peppered Bacon?
Later, after shopping or exploring, return in the afternoon for cookies, brownies or Fairy Cakes. Serve yourself coffee or tea from our beverage bar.

Our scrumptious, full breakfast consists of a fruit course and a hot entree such as Maine Blueberry Pancakes with Peppered Bacon or Cheesy Potato Pie with Sausage and Toast, coffee, tea and juices. Cold cereal and yogurt are also available.

Check-out is at or before 11 AM. Late check-out may be arranged, as reservations allow, for an additional charge. Late check-out must be arranged at time of booking. Unscheduled late check-out will be charged a minimum of $35.

Cancellation Policy:

If you find you must cancel your reservation with us, we will need to know one week in advance of your arrival date. We will do our best to rebook your room. If, however, we are unable to rebook your room, you will be charged one night's room rate. No shows will be charged the entire stay.

Children are welcome here at White Cedar Inn. Due to the presence of antiques and steep stairs we do request that parents strongly consider their child's ability to refrain from running through the house and their child's ability to sit quietly at breakfast. There are no childcare facilities on the premises. Children under the age of 16 may NOT be left alone anywhere on the premises.

Well-behaved dogs are allowed in our Bowdoin room. Dogs may not remain unattended in room, except during breakfast. Most shops in town are 'dog-friendly' and your leashed pet will be welcome most everywhere. Please, no dogs in the Inn's interior common areas. There is an additional room charge of $25 for your dog. We appreciate your helping us to keep the yard clean for all guests so we provide 'scooper' bags. Please note, any damage done by your dog will be charged to your credit card.
