Peacefully located across from the Kennebunk River, adjacent to a tidal inlet, this historic 1908 inn offers classic Maine hospitality rich in tradition. Enjoy afternoon refreshments while rocking on the front porch. Enjoy quiet conversation in the Fireplace Room or join an informal gathering in the parlor to play cards or watch a movie.

Some of the guest bedrooms include a fireplace, an outside porch and are designated pet-friendly. Stay in the private, cove-side Shannon Cottage with two-bedrooms, two baths, a kitchenette, porch and balcony. Known for their incredible three-course breakfasts, start with a fruit opener, breads, granola, then choose from two daily entrée specials or pancakes, french toast, eggs any style, omelettes, sausage links or bacon. The landscaped gardens overlook Fairfield’s Creek, with a scenic view of abundant wildlife.

If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your reservation, we will gladly refund your deposit, less a $25 cancellation fee, as long as receive notice at least 14 days prior to your arrival. If a last minute cancellation is necessary, we will refund your deposit, less a $25 cancellation fee, as long as we are able to rent your room(s) to another party for the length of your original reservation.

Children are welcome at the Green Heron Inn! There is a charge for additional guest in the room, $30 per person for guest 10 years or older, or $20 for children under 10 years old.

Deposit Policy:
Deposit of 30% or the amount of one night's stay, whichever is greater, must be received within 10 days of date reservation is made.
Pets Welcome
We have a few rooms that are pet-friendly. These rooms have direct access to the outside, so pets do not have to go through the common rooms. There is an additional $15 surcharge per pet per night. Maximum of 2 pets per room, please.
Pets Living At Inn: Yes
We own a 9-year old Brittany Spaniel mix, Jamie. But she stays within the owner's quarter area.
Smoking: No
Smoking outside is allowed, but please be considerate of smoke that might waft into the inn/rooms.
