Welcome to the Grand Avenue Bed and Breakfast Carthage, Missouri a lovely Victorian town situated on historic Route 66. Here, brothers fought the first land battle of the Civil War and mined stone that became the wealth used to build the grand houses standing today as testament to an age gone by.
Once able to boast the highest number of millionaires per capita in the U. S., Carthage retains a heritage of historic homes on Maple-lined avenues. From a perch at the top of the Ozarks, Carthage is only 15 minutes from Joplin, 1 hour from Springfield, and 2 hours from either Tulsa or Kansas City.
Tour the Precious Moments Chapel. Play a beautiful and challenging 18-hole golf course. Visit the Civil War Museum and Battlefield. Catch the flavor of our historic square. There is always something to do in historic Carthage.
