Welcome to the Candlelite Inn, Located on Beautiful Shelter Island, NY. The Candlelite Inn is a 175 year old Victorian, situated on one and a half acres in the center of Shelter Island. Recently renovated, The Candlelite Inn has 5 guestrooms with private baths, central air conditioning, television in the common living room and offers a continental breakfast. All rooms have a queen size bed and antique furniture. We have a beautiful wraparound porch to enjoy your morning coffee or just to relax at the end of the day.
Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway,The Honeymoon cottage is a separate 350 square foot cottage where you will enjoy complete privacy. The cottage boasts a King size sleigh bed, a six foot double whirlpool, 4 foot shower, television, antique furniture and air conditioning. Breakfast is also included.
The Candlelite Inn is within short walking distance to Planet Bliss, serving brunch on weekends and dinner nightly. Planet Bliss is a local favorite for tapas and cocktails as well as hosting a late night social scene. Vine Street Cafe is also a short walk and offers fine dining for the discerning palate with indoor and outdoor seating. The Mashomack Nature Conservancy is also within walking distance from the Candlelite Inn. Mashomack is a natural area of nearly 2,100 acres edged by 10 miles of coastline where hikers of all levels can traverse marked trails ranging from one to twelve miles. You might want to see Shelter Island from the water and many guests take advantage of the local kayak rental. For those less adventurous, you can visit The Boltax Art Gallery, antique shop, check out one of our many pristine beaches or just curl up on the front porch with a good book. |
