Built around 1850 in picturesque Barnet Village in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, The Old Homestead Bed & Breakfast has been hosting visiting tourists since 1911.
This beautiful Colonial style home is filled with antiques and other treasures. Gardens and porches beacon on a summer afternoon, or enjoy a cozy fireplace and a good book on a snowy winter night. The kitchenette is well stocked for a cup of tea and snack of delicious home-baked treats, fresh fruits, and other delicacies prepared by your host, Gail Warnaar.
Gail Warnaar is also a retired musician and music teacher, specializing in oboe and bassoon. The Old Homestead houses the Double Reed Shop, which caters to the print music and accessory needs of oboe and bassoon players around the world. We welcome your ensemble for a rehearsal retreat in our rehearsal room and access to the complete DRShop stock -- over 500 titles for wind quintet alone! Coaching or lessons also available.
