The Dockside is a special place on the Maine seacoast. It captures the essence of Maine with natural beauty, gracious hospitality and abundant array of sights, recreation and activities. This unique location on a private peninsula provides an unsurpassed panoramic view of York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. Spacious grounds offer privacy, relaxation and classic Maine scenery. Accommodations are in the Maine House, a quintessential "New England Cottage" and modern multi-unit buildings at the waters edge. All rooms in the Maine House enjoy large porches overlooking York Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean, complete with wicker rocking chairs so you can take in the harbor activity. The rooms in the multi-unit buildings have private decks with water views each looking directly out the harbor channel to the ocean. We offer a delicious breakfast buffet each morning, which can be enjoyed on the front porch overlooking the water or during the winter by the cracking fire in the living room. The Dockside Restaurant serves dinner and lunch in a bi-level dining room that affords every seat a water view. Local seafood as well a wide variety of other favorites make the Dockside popular with locals and visitors alike. Many people will drive hundreds of extra miles searching for the experience that awaits them at the Dockside. The Dockside offers the quintessential Maine experience of a relaxing atmosphere filled with friendly people, fabulous seafood and beautiful scenery.
Eric and Carol are the second generation innkeepers of the Dockside. They took over 28 years ago for Eric's parents, David and Harriette, who purchased Harris Island in 1953. Over the years they would create the Dockside Guest Quarters, Dockside Restaurant and York Harbor Marina.
