We are Klaas and Michelle a Dutch/American couple, who feel that traveling, is a fantastic way to connect with other people. It opens hearts, minds and souls. Basically we thrive on travel. We met while Klaas was bicycling (yes, on a push bike) through the USA. It really was one of those I saw him across a room stories….and fell for him instantaneously! In a whirlwind I quit my job, rented my house and joined him on my bicycle. We rode through Mexico and Central America for 5 months together. Off into the sunset….. That was in 2004. Fast forw...

We had a great time in a fun part of Portland. We were traveling with children and it was incredibly hot outside, however, the house was nice and cool and within walking distance of so much to do. I highly recommend this place!
We stayed in the upper level (aka "High Gear"). The decor is fantastic, the home was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Due to it's charming exterior, the home gets lots of attention from passersby, but that really was not a problem (minus the one peeper at the front door one night!). What a great location and property! We visited with another couple and our 4 children - the property was well appointed, the manager quickly responded to questions we had prior to and during our stay, there was a book full of local recommendations and coupons, etc. Great coffee and breakfast locations right across the street with additional options...
Loved the house! It’s lovely and in a fantastic location. We had uninvited visitors (ants) crash the party, but otherwise it was perfect.
The house is cozy and warm, full of thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. Our family of six never felt crowded and we were able to find everything we needed. That, paired with all of the fun and games to be found on Alberta, made for a great stay. Can’t wait to come back!

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATIONS : If you need to cancel up to one month in advance, you get the full payment back, minus any processing fees. Between a month and 2 weeks you get half the payment, minus any processing fees. Two weeks up to reservation there is no refund. Any changes that result in a shortened stay or early departure do not warrant any refund.
