One block from the front door is where you can find Mahncke Park itself which is a large neighborhood park filled with mesquite trees and a quaint community garden (Mahncke Park Community Garden) with many different types of flowers and vegetables. Walking to the garden and having a seat under the large tree is always an enjoyable activity on a sunny day. The neighborhood itself offers many walking paths and running routes for those looking to enjoy the beautiful San Antonio sunshine. Smokeshack BBQ, recently featured on national TV (Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives), is just a 10-minute walk away and the Witte Science Museum is a 15-minute walk. The Mahncke park neighborhood is very pleasant to walk around on a nice day, especially around the park itself and the community garden. It is a quiet neighborhood that has the convenience of being removed from the hustle of downtown but still being very close to all of the activity nearby. Within a three-minute drive of Kozy in SanAntone, guests can find themselves at the Pearl, with a variety of local restaurants, bars, shops, and a Farmer’s Market every weekend. A five-minute drive north of Kozy SanAntone guests can find themselves in Alamo heights, a luxurious neighborhood, where there are a multitude of different restaurants, bars, shops, and museums. Within a ten-minute drive to the north guests can find themselves at the Quarry Market which is a large outdoor shopping mall that is home to many stores, including the fine Texas based bootmakers Lucchese, and restaurants.
