Mauna Loa Shore is a good location if not staying at a hotel. Ocean is right in front and to the side. Rooms are decent. Our units had several fans but no A/C. I t can get humid and warm. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. Hilo Seaside Restaurant almost directly across the street. Excellent food & service. Call early, they sell out fast.

This is an older condo so don't expect anything fancy. Some of the furniture is old. However the best part of this condo is the proximity to the lagoon and beach. No driving and parking. My husband and I stayed in this unit for 5 days. The unit is well stocked with kitchen items. The unit is located next to a great beach park with easy access to the water. The property managers were great to deal with and we enjoyed having a home base on the Hilo side of the island.
