THE SPACE
A lovely, simple, ground floor, 1200 square foot 2 bed 2 bath apartment with ocean views in West Bay on Grand Cayman Island. Easy access - no stairs.

You'd like to rent with us because you didn't come to the Caribbean to stay on the 7th floor of a hotel chain property, you don't want to pay for a "turn down service", and because you appreciate getting away from the noise and the loud music that goes along with 7 Mile Beach in the evenings (but don't worry, that world famous beach is just 5 mins away!).

The apartment has a very large living space, and it's all open plan. The kitchen is large with stools and lots of bench space. There's a couch that seats 6 comfortably and a large dining table to match. The apartment is fully furnished - towels, linen, cutlery, pots, pans, everything.

5 steps out your back door is a beautiful pool with plenty of deck chairs, and the sea is just beyond. And you're on the ground floor, so the whole pool area feels like its your own private space.

There's world class diving and snorkeling straight out the back, tanks and guides available (at an additional charge) on site, and a small private beach - folding chairs, beach towels and a beach umbrella are provided in the condo.

Two of the island's most famous (Macabuca - fun beach fair - dive or snorkel right off the back of the restaurant or snorkel home from lunch and The Cracked Conch - fine dining) restaurants are next door, and some of Cayman's most famous attractions, including the Cayman Turtle Centre and the Dolphin Centre, are just as close.

And then there's everything else that Cayman has to offer you - which is all super close as well (its not the world's biggest island!).

Our ground floor condo will suit couples as well as families or people who don't want to climb up and down stairs every time they head to the pool. We provide DVD players in the living and guest room with a wide selection of DVD's on the off chance that it rains. Classic games and cards are also available.

The Neighborhood:
West Bay is where Cayman comes alive. Seven Mile Beach stretches right up the western coast of the island, but the hotel chains peter out and are replaced by the things you really came to the Caribbean to see - little streets, little shops and stalls, bright colors - the closer you get the more you'll really fell like you've "arrived".

The road that leads you to our place hugs the ocean - you'll never get lost if you follow the ocean!

The diving and snorkeling in West Bay is phenomenal and in particular off the back of the Coconut Bay condominiums. As a super rare bonus it is roughly a 2 minute walk from your back patio. Patrick dives and snorkels (a couple times a day weather permitting) while Whitney is a dedicated snorkeling enthusiast. 

The West Bay has several of the premier restaurants on the island offering a full variety of vacation's best options within 2-8 minutes driving. Macabuca, The Cracked Conch, Vivo, Heritage Kitchen and Ristorante Pappagallo to list a few we recommend. 

And the size of the island means that while you'll feel like you've gotten away from it all - everything that Cayman has to offer you will never be more than a few minutes drive away.

GETTING AROUND
There's lots of parking right in front of the unit. There's also a local bus service and some taxis, but nearly everyone who comes to Cayman rents a car - almost every major car rental company has an office at or near the airport and a couple local choices also. 

Driving is on the LEFT hand side of the road in Cayman. We prefer the European style drivers configuration when renting cars if available (steering wheel on the right of the vehicle) as it seems to make the transition feel more natural).

Start your day by visiting Kaibo Beach Espresso for a cup of organic coffee and breakfast. Or, stroll or bike ride to the Rum Point Club, it takes just minutes.

Stop by to enjoy the white sands and clear, shallow waters, or explore the shoreline by kayak, paddleboard, swim fins, or jet ski. The Rum Point Club restaurants reopen in Spring 2023, however, a small beach bar is planned to reopen for the 2022 holidays.

Although quiet and peaceful, Cayman Kai livens up in the evening. You'll notice your neighbors making their way to spots like the Kaibo Beach Bar or Kaibo Upstairs for great food and company. Barefoot Beach BBQs, Luna Del Mar dinners, and themed chef-tasting dinners are popular.

Little ones will love exploring Starfish Point Beach. Starfish dot the tideline at this pristine spot with gentle waters.

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products. *** BEACH NOTES ***
The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically "public", in that you can swim anywhere along the coast, even behind the Ritz-Carlton! 

The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, water sports, restaurants, a gift shop, and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also, a short walk nearby is the Kaibo Marina featuring a fine dining restaurant, a casual beach bar and grill, and a marina. 

Ferry service to Camana Bay departs from the Kaibo Marina, perfect for day trips to Seven Mile Beach!

The homes in Cayman Kai offer serene waters for kayaking or paddle boarding with no waves. You get the best of both worlds at this home: a backyard facing the ocean with an elevated private pool plus a barefoot backyard beachfront.

*** OCEAN DEBRIS & SARGASSUM SEAWEED ***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. 

Sargassum is not an issue for homes in the Cayman Kai neighborhood.

You will find a large chefs' kitchen, wine fridge, tons of cabinet space, and walk-in pantry with washer and dryer. The large dining and living areas open to an ocean view patio. This is a great residence for families with an open plan and large bedrooms. The spacious master suite features a separate, private ocean view patio, desk, and seating area plus a large spa-like ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a king bed, and the third bedroom has 2 queen beds and a private balcony.

Welcome to Deja Blu, Island House #4.

This 2-bedroom tropical villa has been completely redecorated from top to bottom with beautiful finishes and decor. New ceiling fans enhance the tropical breezes while the air conditioning keeps things cool on warmer days in both the bedrooms and living areas. 

The atrium, living, dining, and kitchen areas are on the first floor along with a powder room and the laundry room. A sunset-facing study with a desk and sofa provides a perfect spot for remote work, reading books, or relaxing. 

The living and dining areas open onto a spacious, fully-screened, 2-story atrium with vaulted ceilings. Enjoy a tropical breakfast or cocktail hour without pesky bugs. 

Upstairs, youï¿½ll find two bedroom suites, each with a private balcony and ensuite bathroom. The balconies overlook the screened atrium providing elevated views of the waterfront.

The Island Houses are a small cluster of townhomes encircling a shared pool at the end of Cayman Kai Cove; directly across from the Rum Point Club Beach. Perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, the cove is home to Caymanï¿½s Bioluminescence Bay. Experience the beautiful glowing waters on moonless nights.

The big draw to this neighborhood is its proximity to the restaurants and water sports at Rum Point Beach. Guests can easily stroll across the street for a barefoot beach experience with snorkeling and shaded hammocks. The new Rum Point Club Resort (with bar & restaurant) is also only a short walk.

Finally, a short bike ride south on Water Cay Road is where youï¿½ll find the Kaibo, a luxe beach dining destination, and marina. The Kaibo serves lunch and dinner along with a coffee bar for lattes and breakfast items. 

Ferry service departs daily from the marina across the North Sound to Camana Bay, an up-scale, outdoor mall with boutique shops, restaurants, and a cinemaï¿½perfect for day trips! 

Just beyond the marina is Starfish Point, a secluded beach spot with crystal clear shallow water teeming with starfish. Pack a picnic and head to the point for sunset views that will leave you breathless.

***Getting Around***
A rental car is highly recommended. Taxi cabs are unreliable and expensive outside of town and Seven Mile Beach. Plus, there is no Uber or Lyft on the island.

***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation***

***Beach Notes***
The Island Houses enjoy a private sandy beach for everything from building sand castles to launching kayaks or trying oneï¿½s hand at paddleboarding. The waters here are shallow with a soft bottom; perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, but not ideal for swimming or snorkeling. For a barefoot beach experience with great food and a unique vibe, head across the street to Rum Point Beach (temporarily closed, reopening in late 2022).

Rum Point Beach offers a spectacular white sandy beachfront with vibrant snorkeling, shaded hammocks, watersports, charter excursions, two restaurants, and a beach bar. Chaises are plentiful on a first-come, first-served basis.

South of Rum Point Beach you will find The Kaibo, a local beach club and marina. The Kaibo consists of a coffee shop and two restaurants, a beach bar and grill on the lower level along with a fine dining restaurant upstairs. Live music, beach barbecues, and full moon parties are highlights at Kaibo. 

From the Kaibo Marina, hop on the Cayman Ferry for a day trip across the sound to the shops and restaurants at Camana Bay and Seven Mile Beach. 

***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum seasonally. Sargassum is a harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. 

Sargassum RARELY is an issue at the Island Houses.
